The LX8383A-00CP is a linear voltage regulator for PMIC applications. It supplies 3.3 V output voltage to the system or subsystem supply from a 2.7 V to 5.5 V input voltage source. The regulator\'s output voltage is factory set at 3.3 V with an accuracy of ±1.5%. Its low power consumption relative to other solutions makes it an ideal choice for battery-powered applications or systems where energy efficiency is critical.

The LX8383A-00CP is a low dropout (LDO) linear regulator that operates with a minimum of 1.43 V between the output voltage and the input voltage. The quiescent current of the regulator is only 0.6 mA in normal operation. The voltage regulator has a thermal shutdown feature, current limit protection, and short-circuit protection, making it ideal for applications that require reliability.

Working Principle

The LX8383A-00CP is a linear voltage-regulating device, meaning that it regulates the output voltage of the power source through resistive voltage dividers. The resistive dividers control the amount of current flowing from the input source, thereby regulating the output voltage to the desired setpoint. The voltage regulator includes an internal reference voltage to compare the input and output voltages to maintain the desired output voltage.

The device is also equipped with internal protection features such as short-circuit, over-current and thermal shutdown.
