Design and Working Principle

The LYT5216D-TL is a high efficiency flyback topology AC/DC converter. It integrates a PFC controller, an oscillator, a MOSFET, a high voltage feedback circuit, an active rectification circuit and an output limiter, making it suitable for LED lighting and various applications.The converter operates in a current mode control to achieve peak current limit and optimal immediate current waveform. When the output current reaches the peak current limit, the LYT5216D-TL automatically reduces the peak current and automatically adjusts the voltage to maintain the same average current. When the peak current waveform is limited, the output voltage waveform instantly decreases, making the waveform much smoother.As for the operating principle, the LYT5216D-TL is designed to controlled by a Leading Edge Modulation (LEM). During the voltage-flyback period, the PFC will drive the external MOSFET to continuously adjust the output voltage of the converter. The output voltage is then feed back to the PFC controller to control the output voltage.
