M95020-WMN6P Application Field and Working PrincipleThe M95020-WMN6P is a memory device with a wide range of applications, from consumer electronics and industrial applications to telecommunications, automotive and military systems. The M95020-WMN6P is a low power CMOS memory device with a 10-pin Dual-In-Line or with a leadless QFP package. The device is an electrically erasable, non-volatile memory based on a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) that maintains data even after the power is removed.The M95020-WMN6P serial EEPROM provides 8 kb of memory organized as a two-port asynchronous random access memory. The device features 4-wire serial communication protocol - Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) and supports the ‘CPHA = 0, CPOL = 0’ mode operation Clock frequency. The maximum write and read times are 20 ms and 30 us., respectively. The SPI bus always has a Master and Slave device. The Master device has control of the bus and is the only device responsible for providing the clock. The Slave device is in charge of receiving the data and providing the read data during a write process. The device supports a single byte write or a whole block write.The device features some additional features, such as Security Registers, which are synchronous registers that can protect the memory contents from accidental conflicts. The Device ID Register allows the user to detect the presence of the device in the system without needing special software. The device also features Over-temperature Protection, which prevents data corruption due to excessive temperature.The M95020-WMN6P is a very versatile memory device which can be used in a wide range of applications.
