MASMBJ10CAE3 Application Field and Working Principle
The MASMBJ10CAE3 is a Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) Diode that can protect electronic equipment from damage caused by transient over-voltages. These diodes are the second generation of bi-directional breakover devices which offer superior performance in most applications. The MASMBJ10CAE3 series offers improved reliability and improved temperature stability over other TVS diode products.
The MASMBJ10CAE3 is used in consumer electronic applications, such as personal computers, telecommunications, and LCD monitors to protect them from transient over-voltages. The device limits the voltage on the customer’s data or power lines, effectively reducing the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage. The MASMBJ10CAE3 also helps protect the semiconductor that the device is connected to, as it is designed to breakover at either a positive or negative voltage, depending on the application. This allows it to effectively pass current when the applied voltage is within the device’s rated operating range. In the event of an over-voltage, the diode will act as a short circuit and protect the device. The MASMBJ10CAE3 is a bidirectional device, and can function equally well in both directions.
The MASMBJ10CAE3 contains two diodes connected in opposite directions.
