MAX214EWI+ interface is a versatile device that combines a line driver, a single receiver, and transceiver functions. It can easily be used in applications such as Modems, modulators/demodulators, telecommunication, instrumentation, or industrial process controls.
The driver and receiver circuits are integrated in a single package and are designed to meet international telecom specifications. The transceiver performs the basic dual function of driving and receiving a signal to and from a long line and is suitable for driving various medium-speed data links.
The MAX214EWI+ interface has two drivers, three receivers, and a transceiver. Each driver and receiver are independently controllable via dedicated control signals. In addition, the receivers have a wide range of maintain voltages. The driver and receiver are compatible with a wide range of data links, including common Mode and differential Mode links.
Working Principle
The MAX214EWI+ is based on the "Transactions Principle". This principle relies on the sending of transaction packets and requests to devices over a data link. Each packet is received and acknowledged by a device in order to maintain a connection and trust between devices. The MAX214EWI+ device is designed to send and receive this type of packets.
First, the device sends a packet consisting of control bits, data bits, error control bits and flow control bits. This packet is sent over the data link to the destination device. The destination device then examines the packet and, if valid, returns an acknowledge packet. The acknowledge packet contains data bits and control bits defining the result of the request. This process is repeated in order to maintain a reliable communication line.
The MAX214EWI+ device also provides an additional level of error detection and correction that can be implemented during packet transmission and reception. The device uses "CRC-8" (Cyclic Redundancy Check) error detection technology. If an error occurs during packet transmission, the device will use the CRC-8 algorithm to detect the error and, if necessary, retry the packet or inform the host of the error.
The MAX214EWI+ interface is designed to support long-range communication and make sure that data is transmitted and received securely.
