This transceiver offers a high level of integration and performance, with simplistic connections and interfacing to a variety of popular microcontrollers, and is suitable for use within a number of industrial and automotive applications.Features of MAX2421EAI+
The MAX2421EAI+ comes with a number of featured advantages and specifications, enabling it to handle applications within the industrial and automotive markets. It has extended operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, as well as tiny package sizes of 2mm x 3mm DFN-8, 3mm x 4mm 16-TQFN, and 3.3mm x 5mm 16-TDFN. The transceiver features low signal distortion due to its +10 dB common mode range, compatible with the local bus application, and its immunity to EMI by 30 kV contact discharge and 15 kV ESD protection. The MAX2421EAI+ is a full-duplex, differential I/O CAN transceiver that functions by using two signal lines in order to send and receive CAN messages at rates up to 250 kbps. Each signal line consists of two wires, one of which transmits the signal, and the other wire is for the reception (differential receiving) of the signal.The transceiver is connected between the microcontroller (MCU) and the external CAN bus; thus, the CAN message from the CAN bus is received as a differential voltage at the receiver input of the transceiver, and the transceived signal is coupled to the MCU. The MAX2421EAI+ provides many necessary functions, such as loss of arbitration detection, local transmit inhibit input, fault protection, and bi-directional bus pin protection. Moreover, it has fault-tolerant wake up circuitry and wake up signals connected to the local MCU and to the external CAN lines.Conclusion
