MAX2170ETL/V+T is a kind of RF Misc ICs and Modules. It is a Single- chip, wideband, transmission line transformer-coupled MMIC Variable-gain Amplifier. It covers both 3-6 and 8-14 GHz. This IC has been designed for cost-sensitive low power applications and has advantages such as low voltage, small size, and low operating current.
It provides a wide range of gain control from 0dB to typical values of 24 dB, with separate adjusting for coarse and fine values, at voltages of 0.7V and 0.3V respectively. This device integrates a single pole DC-blocking capacitor at the input prior to the gain stages, a single pole low pass filter at the output as well as a single stage LO buffer. A variety of other features make this device useful, and these features include excellent linearity, temperature stable operation and a low profile package.
The MAX2170ETL/V+T application field mainly includes point-to-point radio, satellite and wireless multimedia point-to-multipoint applications, wireless MMDS systems, and remote wireless LANs. It is also useful in instrumentation amplifiers, wideband power amplifiers, and radiation immunity testing.
The working principle of MAX2170ETL/V+T is based on the basic concept of variable gain amplifiers (VGAs) which use a gain control mechanism to adjust the output signal level from the amplifier.
