Among these, the MAX2322EUP+T is a high-performance direct-conversion fully integrated RFIC that allows direct connections to the RF transceiver, minimized board space and cost-savings for GSM/EDGE, 3G, and WCDMA power amplifier (PA) and low-noise amplifier (LNA) applications. Additionally, the MAX2322EUP+T provides high-linearity RFB amplifiers to increase receiver\'s sensitivity and operate at 2.2V to 2.6V for power management with low-quiescent currents. This device also integrates specific features such as integrated receive-mode filtering and powers on RF sensing to enhance the link performance.
MAX2322EUP+T also possesses excellent performance for applications demanding high linearity and low distortion. With 48µA quiescent current, it provides an I/O 7dB conversion loss, high linear PA with 36dBm output power, LNA with 1.2dB noise figure, and enhanced receiver linearity performance. Further, its robust design allows superior linearity performance over temperature and also prevents it from switching negatively on an exact MEAIL roofing filter. The device includes two voltage regulators to control the current through the incoming power line when the device is powered by the RF signal.
In terms of its working principle, the MAX2322EUP+T essentially acts as an RF mixer that can be connected directly to an RF transceiver. With this, when a RF signal is received from a transmitter, the RF signal is routed to the MAX2322EUP+T, where it passes through several stages of filtering, amplification and mixing. At the first stage, the signal passes through a receive mode filter, which eliminates unwanted signals and improves RF reception. Then, the signal is further amplified in a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) to maximize receiver sensitivity and reduce distortion. Following this, the signal is passed through an output matching stage, which sets the fixed frequency, and then through a transmitter power amplifier, which increases the output power of the signal. After all of these stages, the signal is finally mixed with the oscillator and is ready for transmission.
In conclusion, the MAX2322EUP+T is an efficient, multifunctional RFIC which features high performance and low-quiescent currents, making it a suitable choice for many application fields, such as EDGE, GSM, ISM, GPRS, WCDMA, CDMA2000, WCDMA, and TDSCDMA multi-ELNA PA systems.
