MAX232ECWE Application Field and Working Principle

The MAX232ECWE is an integrated circuit used to convert the TTL logic levels of an embedded system into the RS232 logic levels used by commercially-available devices, such as PCs and modems. It is an IC designed by Maxim Integrated and comes in a small 8-pin package. In applications where both data transmission and reception are required, such as instrumentation, embedded systems, and PLCs, the MAX232ECWE can be used. The MAX232ECWE IC has four separate output drivers, two of which are balanced and two are separate, ensuring that any logic voltage from the TTL is converted to a standard RS232 voltage compliant level.
