The MAX241EEWI+ signal conditioning device is a member of the large family of Field Effect Transistor (FET)-based integrated circuits (ICs) employed for short-distance signal carrying applications in a wide variety of industrial, commercial, and consumer end-products. And for this reason, the MAX241EEWI+ interface driver, receiver, transceiver can be categorized into the same group.The main area of application for the MAX241EEWI+ is sensor monitoring and signal conditioning. It can be used to groove a combination of digital, analog, and pulse signals together and transmit the data via a single cable. This device can be used in numerous applications, such as instrumentation, medical equipment, robotics, factory automation and control systems, data acquisition, and more.The MAX241EEWI+ provides an L-MOS (low-power + hysteretic) level-shifting interface solution with a wide operating voltage range and low power consumption. Along with its two fixed logic thresholds of 0.3*V cc and 0.7*V cc , it also provides a wide operating temperature range of -55°C to +175°C. The device also enables high-speed, high-impedance (>-5V) signal conditioning and isolation from electrical noise. The MAX241EEWI+ provides an on-board active component failsafe protection feature and a power-on reset circuit that automatically resets the device and IC states upon powering up.The MAX241EEWI+ device is composed of three kinds of circuit blocks, namely the CMOS input/ output stage, a hysterisis logic stage, and an output buffer stage.The CMOS input/output stage increasesi the level shifting capacitance, which reduces the circuit\'s power consumption. The hysterisis logic stage features hysteresis on the non-inverting inputs, which is used to improve the noise immunity of the device. The hysterisis logic stage also provides two-stage non-inverting level-shifting, which decreases the required power supply voltage and increases the EMI protection. Finally, the output buffer stage provides a low-impedance current and voltage output, as well as a low-power consumption.The MAX241EEWI+ has several other features that make it particularly attractive for short-distance data transmission applications. It has an auto-reset feature that ensures the output logic level remains at the factory-set state after power-on, a thermal shutdown feature which provides temperature protection and a programmable reset delay of up to 350 ms, in order to ensure successful power-on initialization.
