MAX243ESE+ is a type of interface drivers, receivers, transceivers. It is a single-chip 10–T/R pair device that is designed to drive/receive TIA/EIA–581-A standard RS-485 transceivers. MAX243ESE+ is fully RoHS compliant and highly efficient for a variety of industrial applications. MAX243ESE+’s built-in transceivers has a high-impedance differential noise-input which allows signals up to 1.5Vrms under the most severe crosstalk condition. In addition, it has both differential and common-mode input threshold of 4.6V, which provides more noise margin than prior generations of transceivers.MAX243ESE+ helps prevent data corruption due to ground potential differences by providing differential voltage levels of 7 Volts. Furthermore, it features a low-power sleep mode and can sustain continuous data rates up to 250 Kbits/s. Application fieldMAX243ESE+ can be widely applied to various communication interface applications, such as communication for numeric, letters and other complex data. It can be used for automatic control and robotics; data acquisition and measurement devices; video, radio and telephone equipment; remote control of a variety of devices; data and equipment security monitoring; and networking between two or more computers.Working principleMAX243ESE+ uses the differential signaling method for data transmission. This is a method where the two transmitter output lines operate at different voltage level from each other, such as 0 volt and 7 volts. This means that the receiver will interpret the difference in voltage as positive or negative depending on the voltage level, allowing it to determine that a 0 or a 1 has been received with greater accuracy.In addition, MAX243ESE+ is equipped with an on-chip receiver detector and comparator, which helps to regulate data rate, minimizes errors and reduces EMI.
