The MAX3120CUA+ is a high-speed, quadruple transceiver that supports up to 16 programmable RS-232/422/485 serial data channels. It is capable of operating in both unipolar and bipolar configurations, and supports data transfer rates up to 1 Mbps. The MAX3120CUA+ combines four Dallas Semiconductor DS-485 transceivers with a RS-232 driver and receiver in a single package. It is capable of providing full-duplex, half-duplex, or four-wire communications across multiple serial channels, allowing a single device to provide full-duplex communications across multiple networks.
The MAX3120CUA+ transceiver provides full-duplex and half-duplex RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 transceivers with programmable interface logic. Its flexible architecture enables it to be used for full-duplex and half-duplex communications of up to 1 Mbps. Its advanced features allow for auto-resetting of outputs and break detection and recovery. The drivers can also be configured to support ESD protection up to 8kV. The device also includes an adjustable analog transimpedance amplifier configured to provide auto-offset and input impedance matching.
The MAX3120CUA+ also includes a programmable logic element that can serve as the data flow control (DFC) unit in low-speed, multi-channel RS-423 applications.
