MAX3670ETJ+T Application Field and Working PrincipleClock/Timing - Clock Generators, PLLs, Frequency SynthesizersThe MAX3670ETJ+T from Maxim Integrated is a low-power, highly integrated Hi-Fi clock generator and digital audio PLL that enables a designer to provide a very high level of digital audio performance with devices such as CD players, Blu-ray players, DVD players, and digital set-top boxes. The MAX3670ETJ+T can be used in consumer digital audio applications for devices that utilize digital audio coding (DACs).The MAX3670ETJ+T features a reliable, low-power design with no external components required. It has a voltage range of 3V to 5V, and can provide up to 48kHz of sample rate frequency. The device also includes built-in short and medium holdover functions that ensure reliable performance.The MAX3670ETJ+T features an audio output clock that is synthesized from the system clock. This clock is used to create a modified discrete Fourier transform (MDFT) signal, which is then filtered to create the audio clock. The clock can be synchronized to the system clock to ensure reliable and accurate timing.The clock output from the MAX3670ETJ+T is used to generate a variety of audio signals including stereo digital audio, multichannel digital audio, DSD audio, and Dolby Digital (AC-3).
