The MAX3221EIPWRE4 is a monolithic integrated interface device which offers a convenient, low-powered solution for data communication applications. It is designed to provide solutions to the supply of the interfacing between multiple digital signals employed in communication and sensing applications. It utilizes a fast, low-power CMOS process. The MAX3221EIPWRE4 features a 3.3V core voltage, a 6-pin version, and is compliant to the RoHS directive. It is available in a hermetic LCC package.

The MAX3221EIPWRE4 offers a fast, low-power solution for the interface of digital communication with the performance of a consumer level device. It is designed to operate in the interface communication between different DSPs, ICs and systems. The MAX3221EIPWRE4 offers a wide power supply range from 2.2 to 3.6V with up to 5V I/O voltage swing. The maximum output current of the device is 50mA (LPO).

The MAX3221EIPWRE4 supports a variety of transmission standards per the configuration chosen. These standards include RS-232, 485E, V.35, 422E and 1553B. It is designed to meet the requirements of the MIL-STD-1553B bus standard. It supports 32-bit data transfer at full SPI interface speed. The MAX3221EIPWRE4 provides three modes of operation: Synchronous, Synchronous/ARINC 429 and Asynchronous, each with fiber-optic support.

The MAX3221EIPWRE4 features a low-power, low-cost design. It features a programmable power control algorithm that allows the designer to reduce the power consumption while increasing the system performance. The device includes Spartan-3E FPGA, 32Mbits of Flash and up to 128Kb of RAM.
