The MAX4070ATA+T is a linear amplifier in the field of instrumentation and op amps. It is a low noise, wide supply range dual low power amplifier with adjustable gain and low input impedance. This amplifier is designed to amplify signals from low-bandwidth capacitance micropower sensors such as humidity, pressure and temperature; and amplified signals from low-impedance current sources. It is ideal for use in portable medical applications and low-power industrial systems. The MAX4070ATA+T has a unique design that enables it to work efficiently in a wide dynamic range and to maintain low input impedance in a wide range of supply voltages.

The MAX4070ATA+T features a wide supply range of ±2.5V to ±6.5V with a maximum supply current of 360µA. Asymmetric amplification is provided allowing both the negative and positive signal paths to be custom tailored for increases or decreases in gain or offset voltage. It also provides for accurate gains and offsets at extreme temperatures.

The MAX4070ATA+T is a dual low power amplifier that provides for two single-ended inputs. The amplifier’s output stage can swing within 0.4V of the supply rails, allowing differential outputs of up to 3.2V peak-to-peak. The amplifier has very low total harmonic distortion of 0.004% and a high signal-to-noise ratio of 98dB.

The MAX4070ATA+T employs a bipolar input stage combined with a high-gain buffer stage followed by a low-power low-noise output stage. This combination of stages provides for accurate and stable amplification of sensors in the presence of large common mode signals and small input signals. The input stage offers a low-impedance capable of faithfully accurately amplifying the tiny signals from capacitive micropower sensors. The buffer stage allows the signals to be absorbed, so that it can be accurately manipulated in the output stage. The output stage operates at low power and supplies low noise for sensitive applications.

In addition, the MAX4070ATA+T also allows for adjustable gain and low input impedance. The amplifier provides adjustable gains from 1 to 128 and can be programmed with external resistors. It also offers excellent noise characteristics, with a low noise maximum input-referred voltage noise of 18nV/√Hz. Also, its very low input impedance of 4.4kΩ allows for easy integration of devices with impedance mismatch.

The amplifier’s low-power design also means that it will dissipate very little power when fully operational. This makes it suitable for use in portable and low-power applications. The amplifier is also qualified to the automotive temperature range, making it suitable for use in automotive applications.
