The MAX4315ESE is a bipolar monolithic, 2.7V, 450mW quad variable-gain amplifier specifically designed for variable-gain, low power video amplifiers and variable gain preamplifiers. It is part of Maxim’s family of Linear - Amplifiers - Video Amps and Modules. The MAX4315ESE\'s four independent, low noise variable-gain amplifiers are designed to operate from a single +2.7V power supply. The gain range and bandwidth for each amplifier are electronically programmable over several decades, and differential gains of 0.2 to 500 can be realized.The MAX4315ESE combines industry-leading low distortion linearity with a very low noise gain control. The gain of each amplifier is adjusted by a digital volume control code that adjusts a 64-step ladder network of parallel resistance. This results in a smooth and continuous gain transition with very little noise or distortion.The MAX4315ESE has very low 3-dB bandwidth in all gain settings. At a gain of 1, the MAX43715ESE has a bandwidth of 150 kHz, while at a gain of 10, the bandwitch is 33 MHz. The MAX4301ESE is available in a 5 x 5mm 24-lead TQFN surface-mount package and is specified from -40 to +85°C.The MAX4315ESE has two modes: High-Gain (HG) and Low-Gain (LG). HG mode is characterized by a fast voltage range of 0.8 dB per step, with a range of gain steps of 4 dB to 100 dB overall. LG mode is characterized by a slower voltage range of 0.2 dB per step, with a range of gain steps of 0.2 dB to 60 dB overall.The MAX4315ESE has two operational modes, High dynamic range (HDR) and Low dynamic range (LDR). In HDR mode, the MAX4315ESE will provide a maximum gain of 60 dB, while in LDR mode, the MAX4315ESE will provide a maximum gain of 40 dB.The MAX4315ESE is ideal for use in battery-operated portable devices, such as video cameras and audio equipment, requiring low power draw and low distortion.
