Working Principle:
The working principle of the MAX4378FASD+ is based on an Instrumentation amplifier architecture.The MAX4378FASD+ contains two low-noise, high-input impedance op amps and a precision amplifierarranged in a differential input, single-ended output configuration. The two input op amps havevery high input impedances, low input bias currents and low offset voltages, making them ideal foramplifying small signals. The third amplifier is used to buffer and amplify the input signal andalso to provide rail-to-rail output swing. The user can adjust both the gain and the offset ofthe amplifier with a single external resistor.
The input signals are applied to the two input op amps. The amplifier is designed to achieve aninput common-mode voltage range from 0.2V below the negative supply to the positive supply.The two input op amps act as a differential amplifier, with the difference between their outputsbeing amplified by the third op amp. This fourth op amp buffers the output signal and provides aguaranteed rail-to-rail output swing. The user can adjust both the gain and the offset of theamplifier with a single external resistor.
