The MAX4583AUE+T is an 8-channel single-ended analog multiplexer with a transmission gate (T) switch structure. This structure is a differential transmission gate surrounded by two diodes. The diodes protect the device from ESD and other transient logic signals. The MAX4583AUE+T is an ideal solution for multiplexing single-ended signals such as Audio, RF, Video and Switch Mode Power Supplies. Moreover, the device is available in several varieties to match the application needs including a Low-Voltage version (Max 4583AUE+LVT) and a Low-Noise version (Max 4583AUE+LNT).The MAX4583AUE+T can operate in two modes, either single channel or differential channel. In single channel mode all eight channels are connected in parallel and can be used to drive large capacitive loads. In differential mode, the device can be operated as a 4-channel differential multiplexer by using both the S and T terminals.The MAX4583AUE+T utilizes an industry standard CMOS process, allowing for low power dissipation and high speed switching. It is ideal for use in high-speed, high-resolution switching and multiplexing duties for a wide variety of application.The MAX4583AUE+T has an on-resistance of 1.9KOhm (typical) which is low enough for minimal signal degradation. It also has a propagation delay of only 2.4ns (typical) which is low enough for high bandwidth signals. The input signal range of the MAX4583AUE+T is from -0.3Vt to +3.3Vt which allows it to be used in both CMOS and N-channel logic systems without the need for additional signal level translators.The MAX4583AUE+T is designed to work with both TTL and CMOS logic levels and can be powered by either a single or dual-supply source. It has an operating voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V and can handle up to 30mA of current.One of the most attractive features of the MAX4583AUE+T is its immunity to ESD and transient logic signals. This makes it suitable for use in consumer electronic products that are regularly exposed to environmental hazards such as lightning strikes and electro-magnetic interference.The MAX4583AUE+T works on the concept of multiplexing. It enables multiple signals to be multiplexed into a single output stream. This is done by first isolating each signal with a diode circuit. The resulting signal is then passed through a T switch. This T switch is a transmission gate with two diodes placed on either side of it. These diodes protect the device from ESD and other transient logic signals.
