The MAX4595EXK+T is a family of high-speed, quad single-pole/double-throw Analog Switches, Multiplexers, and Demultiplexers from Maxim Integrated. It is specifically designed for applications that require a low-on-resistance, low-on-resistance, low-distortion solution. The device is rated for 8V and can switch up to 6V of input/output range. It is suited for bidirectional transmission between digital and analog signals, and can operate in both directions. The MAX4595EXK+T has a wide operating temperature range of –40°C to +85°C and can be used in automotive, industrial, telecom, and other applications.
The MAX4595EXK+T consists of four independent switches and each switch consists of an input (common) terminal, two output terminals, and a control terminal. Each switch may be separately operated via two internal logic signals. Upon application of a logic high voltage at the control terminal, the device will connect the common terminal and an output terminal, and when logic low voltage is applied, the output terminal is disconnected from the common terminal. The MAX4595EXK+T is available in a 20-pin SOIC package and can be operated from either a TTL or CMOS logic family.
The MAX4595EXK+T accomplishes low-on resistance by integrating a low-on-resistance design with a high-quality P-channel and NMOS-transistors that utilize a low-on-resistance MOSFET technology. It also has an integrated substrate diode clamp to protect against inductive switching. Moreover, the device is integrated with an on-chip protection scheme to protect against electrostatic discharge (ESD). The ESD protection scheme ensures that the device remains open in the event of an ESD event.
The MAX4595EXK+T is an ideal solution for applications that require high-speed switching with low-on-resistance, low distortion and ESD protection, such as audio and video signal multiplexing, demultiplexing, switching and routing, and communications systems. It is also suitable for applications that require low-on-resistance path between analog and digital signals, such as audio mixing, door chimes, radios, and cable modems. Additionally, the MAX4595EXK+T is ideally suited for powering portable audio and video applications, as it is able to support multiple input and output power.
