The MAX4616ESD+T is an advanced analog switch, suitable for a variety of applications including switching, multiplexing and demultiplexing of analog signals. It has a very low on-resistance of only 0.5Ω and can operate from a single supply from 0V to 18V. It also has a very wide temperature range of -65°C to 150°C.This versatile switch is made up of two independent single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switches in an ultra-small package. Each switch includes break-before-make circuitry to ensure short-circuit and distortion-free operation. Its low on-resistance ensures low signal distortion and low current consumption. Each SPDT switch has three terminals and operates when a logic signal (R/L) is applied to the control inputs. A high logic input closes the switch connecting the two center terminals together. A low logic input opens the switch disconnecting the two center terminals. In other words, the MAX4616ESD+T can switch one signal from one of two output sources.The MAX4616ESD+T can be used in various interface circuit applications such as switching and multiplexing audio signals, analog multiplexers and demultiplexers, data buses, and other power control applications. For example, in an audio system it can selectively switch inputs from a microphone or an audio source to one or more speakers. This makes it possible to route an input signal to different locations using a single control input.In multiplexing applications, the MAX4616ESD+T analog switch can be used to switch several analog signals between common nodes. It can be used to switch several digital data buses or analog buses. This prevents any one bus from overpowering or becoming saturated by another.In demultiplexer applications, the MAX4616ESD+T switch can be used to split an analog signal into many separate ones.
