The MAX4802CCM+T device is an eight-channel, single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) analog switch that is designed for interfacing between the logic circuits and the analog signals. This device provides a low on-resistance of 45 Ω and an off-state leakage current of typically 0.01 nA. The MAX4802CCM+T is specified for operation over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range. The MAX4802CCM+T is extremely flexible, allowing the user to configure the device as a multiplexer, demultiplexer, and/or analog switch. As a multiplexer, the device allows a single input to be routed to one of the eight outputs depending upon the logic state of the address inputs. As a demultiplexer, a single output can be selected from one of the eight inputs depending upon the logic state of the address inputs. As an analog switch, the device provides eight individual single pole double throw (SPDT) switches, allowing a single input to be routed to one of eight outputs.
The MAX4802CCM+T operates on a single power supply of +4.5V to +5.5V and can handle both AC and DC signals. It has an adjustable power down feature which allows the user to disable the switch in order to reduce the power consumption of the system. The device has built-in protection diodes which reduce the power dissipation in the switch when the device is in an over-voltage or short circuit condition.
The switch is controlled by three address inputs. The address inputs accept CMOS or TTL logic levels, making the device suitable for applications that require control of multiple signals. The address inputs can be used to select one of eight outputs or one of eight inputs depending upon the operating mode. An internal debounce circuit ensures that the device responds correctly to short, low-amplitude pulses.
The device features a “channel-follow” function, which allows all eight switches to be closed simultaneously by applying a logic high to their common control input. This enables the device to be used as an analog mixer or as an overall on/off switch for a multiplexed signal.
The MAX4802CCM+T is designed for use in industrial, medical, consumer, and automotive applications which require accurate switching of analog signals. It is suitable for use in applications where low power consumption, low on-resistance, and low off-state leakage current are desired.
