The MAX485EESA+T is a low-power transceiver for RS-485/RS-422 differential bus communications. The device includes one driver and one receiver. It is mainly used in half duplex and full duplex receiving and transmitting, and the advantage of low power and high performance makes it widely used in the field of wireless, instrumentation and industrial control.

The device consists of two independent, full-duplex, logic-compatible transceivers that support data rates up to 20 Mbps. It is designed for use in many traditional RS-485/RS-422 applications. The chip also features integrated protection diodes on the driver inputs, allowing up to ± 15 kV ESD immunity on all pins. In addition, the driver, receiver, and enable inputs are all TTL/CMOS compatible.

When transmitting, the MAX485EESA+T receives data from the transmitted data input and transmits it asynchronously over the differential bus using a differential output driver.The receiver section of the MAX485EESA+T converts a differential input signal to a TTL/CMOS compatible logic level output signal. The receiver ensures a differential input which is higher than a small minimum voltage and a differential input current to ensure reliable reception.
