The MAX5022 evaluation kit (EV kit) enables designers to evaluate the performance of the MAX5022, a proprietary dual step-down regulator from Maxim Integrated. This evaluation kit aids in demonstrating how the MAX5022 can operate as a stand-alone DC/DC/AC/DC (off-line ) SMPS with zero load current, increasing efficiency and improving thermal management. The MAX5022 is an integrated dual step-down regulator with near-zero load current. It is a synchronous rectifier, eliminating a power diode and resulting in higher efficiency. In particular, the MAX5022 provides a low quiescent current of only 2.3µA, which improves power efficiency over a wide input voltage range. The device also features very low dropout voltages (VIN- VOUT) across its output range of 0.6V to 3.3V, allowing it to provide stable voltage regulation performance over a wide input voltage range and lower the need for large-value capacitors.
