Working Principle

The MAX5068DAUE+T works with two switch architecture and operates from a universal AC input . The primary switch provides the required power to the primary side, then the secondary switch controls the power to the output. The controller features a programmable PWM frequency, overvoltage and overcurrent protection.

The primary side works in a quasi-resonant (QR) mode and is designed to generate the desired output voltage regulated and with low-losses. The quasi-resonant (QR) scheme enables reaching high efficiency while guaranteeing an accurate no-load AC input current.

The MAX5068DAUE+T also supports a wide range of input voltages (90 VAC to 264 VAC). The overcurrent protection and cycle-by-cycle input current sensing ensure safe operation even in the case of extreme transient conditions. The secondary-side Regulation uses an internal Feedback loop to guarantee accurate output voltage.
