The MAX5079EUD+ is a powerful and versatile integrated circuit (IC) intended for a number of application fields and working principles, including power management integrated circuits (PMICs), OR controllers, ideal diodes, and other application fields that require the high level of flexibility and fast switching capability that the MAX5079EUD+ offers. This enables the MAX5079EUD+ to be used in a wide range of PMIC-OR-Controllers applications and Ideal diodes. Additionally, the circuit incorporated into the MAX5079EUD+ provides reliability, high efficiency and an improved system performance in all relevant fields.
The MAX5079EUD+ features a two or three-phase PWM Boost converter, which is designed to recognize one or two PMIC-OR-Controllers and Ideal diode modes. On the two-phase mode the first PWM channel will be the OR controller and the second PWM channel will be used as the Ideal diode. On the three-phase mode, both PWM channels will be connected to the Ideal diode and the third PWM channel will be used for the OR controller. The MAX5079EUD+ also includes built-in redundancy, which allows for higher chip utilization.
Finally, the MAX5079EUD+ includes an advanced switching control architecture to ensure comprehensive system protection, rapid transient response, and optimal system performance. An InfiniMin Maximizer algorithm, which is optimized to meet the needs of consumer applications, is also integrated into the MAX5079EUD+. The InfiniMin Maximizer algorithm offers superior control, allowing the IC to adapt its operation to changing conditions in order to achieve the highest efficiency.
