The MAX5136AGUE+ is a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) designed to provide high precision and accuracy in a range of applications. It provides higher than 16-bit resolution, resulting in better performance and accuracy than typical 16-bit DACs.

The MAX5136AGUE+ is a multi-channel, single-supply, aero-grade DAC with a buffered voltage output. It operates from a single 2.7V to 3.6V supply and can generate up to four simultaneously independent buffered voltage outputs, with a maximum output voltage range of 0 to 2.4V. Output step sizes are selectable from 3bit (2V) to 16bit (128uV). The DAC also has a power-saving shutdown mode, where the quiescent supply current can be reduced to 10µA.

The MAX5136AGUE+ contains an on-board temperature reference which can be temperature calibrated and provides an excellent ±1ppm/°C temperature accuracy over the full -40°C to +85°C range.The DAC can also be programmed for multiple output code settings for presets and offset commands. The on-board EEPROM also allows for multiple applications on one board, with user-defined DAC configurations which can be permanently stored in non-volatile memory.

All outputs can be updated separately or simultaneously using a single write command. The advanced write function allows the user to write up to 4 output codes in sequence. The output can be enabled/disabled with a software command, which eliminates the need for external switches.

The MAX5136AGUE+ contains on-chip 55dB power supply noise rejection and is designed to be used without additional isolation circuitry in high noise environments. The DAC has a ±0.005% maximum nonlinearity error, resulting in high accuracy and reproducibility of output signals.
