MAX513CSD is an 8-bit Digital-To-Analog Converter (DAC) with a guaranteed monotonic response and very good linearity, making it an ideal choice for a variety of Data Acquisition applications. It is available in three packages, including an 8-pin DIP, an 8-pin SOIC and a 16-pin TSSOP, making it suitable for a variety of system designs. The MAX513CSD is extremely low power with a -3.3V to + 5V supply voltage range.

MAX513CSD\'s architecture consists of 8-bits which independently control the 8 channels and a 10-bit DAC which includes a 2-bit sign section and 8-bit magnitude. Each channel is latched individually, allowing the DAC to respond quickly to changes on the control inputs. The analog range is 3V with a midscale adjustment provided. Full-scale adjustment is provided with an external resistor.

For output stage Maxim provides a class AB amplifier with an adjustable resistor for maximum output current and good rise and fall times. The class AB amplifier has low harmonic distortion and provides good settling times at low current levels. The MAX513CSD has excellent linearity making it suitable for a variety of digital-to-analog applications. Typical applications include multi-channel data acquisition, single and multi-channel control applications, and scientific instrumentation.
