The MAX5442AEUB+ is a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for data acquisition applications. It is capable of converting 8-bit digital codes into analog voltages up to 5.6V with a resolution of 10-bits, providing a total of 2¹⁰ voltage settings. The output voltage is programmable, providing smooth transitions between successive settings and ideal linearity between levels. This DAC is studied in precision audio or speech processing, motor control and automotive systems, communication systems, computers and relatedequipment.

The operations of the MAX5442AEUB are based on the Voltage Output Current-Steering DAC design. This circuit architecture takes the n-bit digital input and determines the corresponding current sourced through the many n-bit output switches. The currents sourced through the output switches are summed together and then converted to a voltage at the output. This conversion eliminates offset errors caused by the output switches and ensures accurate and stable output performance.
