The MAX544ACSA+ is part of a Data Acquisition system and a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC). It is a low-power CMOS 8-bit voltage output digital-to-analog converter (DAC). The MAX544ACSA+ consists of an 8-bit DAC and an 8-bit latch. The DAC is composed of an array of eight high quality resistor elements which convert digital inputs into an analog voltage output. The internal capacitance of each resistor is small enough for the resistor to operate with low power consumption. The latch is used to store the digital input until a new input is received from the serial interface. The 8-bit latch also includes a read/write enable line and a reset line. The enable line is used to control the direction of data transfer; when the enable line is set to "1", more data can be read from the latch and when it is set to "0", data can be written to the latch.
The MAX544ACSA+ DAC is capable of generating programmable voltage outputs with a resolution of 8 bits. The logic inputs, which are applied to the device\'s 8-bit DAC, are level shifted to the 0V to 4.095V range. The device has an output range of 0V to 4.095V which is set by the output voltage scaler (VREF). The chip also provides power on reset feature, so that all outputs are guaranteed to be 0V in the event of a power-on reset. The device also features rail-to-rail operation and excellent power supply rejection ratio (PSRR). The MAX544ACSA+ has excellent linearity and low noise, making it ideal for audio applications, motor control and industrial encoders.
The MAX544ACSA+ can operate with supply voltages ranging from 4.5V to 5.5V. It is fabricated in 1.5µm CMOS technology and offers low power consumption. The chip has an active power dissipation of 39mW and a typical output current ofSource 4mA.
