The MAX5974FETE+ is a low quiescent current, voltage mode, DC-DC switching controller that is designed to work with a variety of topologies, including resonant mode regulating synchronous rectifier buck regulators and self-oscillating synchronous buck converters. It features cycled frequency modulation (CFM) which controls switching frequency and moves the controller\'s peak current limit from a fixed frequency to the maximum frequency of operation, increasing the peak current limit as the load increases. This allows the controller to operate higher with a heavy load and provides a higher efficiency.

The MAX5974FETE+ is designed for use in various application fields like USB and/or Ethernet power manager/multiplexer (PMUX) controllers, automotive Ethernet serial and differential bus transceivers, enterprise cloud Ethernet accesses, vehicle-to-grid power and system monitoring applications, and other medical and industrial monitoring applications.
