MAX5988AEVKIT# is a type of evaluation and demonstration boards and kits classification for the MAX5988A high-voltage, low-noise quad low-side switch. It is specifically designed to provide an application platform to quickly evaluate, test, and design-in the MAX5988A for automotive and industrial controls, commercial aircraft actuators, and motor control systems.TheMAX5988A is a high-voltage switch built on a bipolar process technology. It has excellent capabilities such as a very good turn-on and turn-off threshold accuracy, wide voltage range operations up to 24 V, and a high-output current rating of 3.8 A. It also features low quiescent current of only 4.2 μA over its wide operating temperature range of -40 to 125 °C and is designed for ease of use. It is protected against overvoltage, overtemperature, and short-circuit conditions. The device has high protection against reverse polarity, up to 104 V, without latching and up to 132 V with latching.The MAX5988AEVKIT# features a low-side switch which can be used in different types of applications such as controlling the cooling fans in automotive systems, controlling motors, and controlling solenoids. The MAX5988AEVKIT# is a complete evaluation and demonstration board featuring a MAX5988A with integrated overvoltage protection and a prototyping area for the user to evaluate the device under their own application-specific conditions.The MAX5988AEVKIT# includes an IC monitoring circuit which provides information about current and voltage at the pin in response to changes in the gate voltage and also a positive output current monitor that can be used to monitor the output current of the switches. This feature is particularly useful in automotive and industrial applications to ensure that the maximum current is not exceeded. The MAX5988AEVKIT# also features a precision voltage reference circuit for programming the OENS1 and OENS2 thresholds. This allows the user to control the device threshold voltages accurately and ensure reliable operation.The board also includes a 1.2 V supply voltage, an adjustable current limit circuit, a power on reset circuit, and a current sense circuit. The adjustable current limit circuit can be used to limit the output current of the switch and protect the device against overloads.
