MAX6307UK27D1-T is an adjustable voltage-supervisor chip made by Maxim Integrated, which helps provide microprocessors with complete and stable voltage protection. It is applied in many areas such as system reset, power good interlock, over and undervoltage, etc. It is just one of the products in the PMIC - Supervisors series, Product of which have the following common properties: the on-chip start-up sources and the power good output voltage. They can ensure the microprocessor start-up, steady working and stable power supply and undertake the task of protecting power system by detecting the voltage, giving warning and taking action when it exceeds or drops below the set value.The MAX6307UK27D1-T is a highly tenable, efficient and low-power supervisor. It is a three-pin adjustable reset voltage-supervisor, which can protect microprocessor system against a wide range of voltage failure and Brownout conditions, - ranging from undervoltage to overvoltage. The reset output provides an active-low power-on reset signal when the voltage drops below the set point voltage; and the push-pull output indicates the power source is good. The set point voltage is fully adjustable and covers 2.> to 5.5V.In terms of working principle, MAX6307UK27D1-T is built with an on-chip precision bandgap reference and an amplifier, both of which have temperature compensation, which make the voltage detection more stable and consistent regardless of environmental conditions. The on-chip voltage detection circuit is connected with the selectable input voltage directly and the Set-Point Voltage can be adjusted by external resistor. When the voltage drops below the set point voltage, the reset output will generate a one-shot 270ms active-low reset pulse with an external capacitor to hold the reset pulse, and then when the voltage rises above the set point voltage, the reset output will reset itself and generate a logic-high reset signal.MAX6307UK27D1-T is a very versatile voltage-supervisor chip owing to its two features:1. Very wide input voltage range:2.2V to 5.5V2. Fully adjustable set-point voltage: factory tested to ±1% accuracyAn example application is illustrated in Figure1. This circuit is a basic voltage monitor, MAX6307UK27D1-T is connected with a supply voltage Vcc and a resistor which sets the shut off point level. When Vcc drops below the set-point voltage, the processing system is reset and the power on reset is held for about 0.27s.Figure1. MAX6307UK27D1-T Application ExampleIn conclusion, MAX6307UK27D1-T can meet many requirements of voltage supervisor with solid performance andprotection. It is a member of PMIC-Supervisors series, which ensures the microprocessor start-up, steady working and stable power supply while protecting power system by detecting the voltage, giving warning and taking action when it exceeds or drops below the set value.
