Working Principle of MAX6313UK33D2-T PMIC Supervisor

The device can be programmed to generate a system reset in the event that the supply voltage drops below its programmed reset threshold. Moreover, it can generate a system reset when a voltage overshoot exceeds the programmed reset threshold. In addition, the MAX6313UK33D2-T can provide reset/stall detection capabilities and can detect input undervoltage conditions as well.

The device utilizes an on-chip comparator, latch and timer to monitor the supply rail voltages and provide an appropriate signal to the system. It also implements a hysteresis window comparator to generate a reset assertion when the voltage drops below the programmed reset threshold. When the voltage drops below the reset threshold, the device will generate a reset signal and hold it until the rail voltage rises above the reset threshold.

The reset assertion time and release time can be programmed and adjusted over a wide range of time intervals. This is done by programming the digital filters, an on-chip timer, and an off-chip resistor and capacitor.

The MAX6313UK33D2-T uses an on-chip buffer to provide a delayed reset signal to the host controller if the supply voltage is out of its programmed limits for an extended period of time. This is done to ensure that the system is not reset when the supply voltage is within its programmed limits but is only out of its limits for a short duration.
