MAX6383XR16D2+T is an integrated circuit (IC) supervisor with a reset threshold. It integrates an internal watchdog timer and manual reset, with latch-up glitch immunity and fast rising/falling reset: traditional circuitry needed to safely handle microprocessor/microcontroller supervised power is minimal. This supervisor is ideal for brown-out, microcontroller reset, and watchdog applications.The MAX6383XR16D2+T is a family of precision micropower supervisor ICs that monitor system performance and detect malfunctioning of microprocessors, microcontrollers, and system peripherals. They include a power-on reset (POR), an integrated watchdog timer (WDT) with adjustable prewarning (PRW) and hold-off periods, and reset outputs for manual assertion (MR). These integrated circuits feature a high-accuracy low-voltage detector (LVD), latch-up immunity and fast rising/falling reset, while consuming minimal power.The MAX6383XR16D2+T is designed to monitor 3.3V, 5.0V, and 12V systems and provide system reset when the monitored supply falls below a preset threshold, when the power supply transitions from overvoltage to undervoltage, or when a user wishes to manually assert a reset command. It monitors the power supply in systems with open-drain or push/pull reset outputs and provides clean reset output when an abnormal condition occurs.The MAX6383XR16D2+T has two operating modes: manual reset, which allows the user to assert a reset command, and reset, which is the watchdog mode. In manual reset mode, the MAX6383XR16D2+T can be triggered with a pushbutton or by a logic signal connected to its RES (reset) pin. Manual reset mode can also be used to reset the system when the power supply is down or when the voltage drops below the reset threshold of either 1.25V (TTC) or 2.00V (TLV).In watchdog mode, the MAX6383XR16D2+T monitors the power supply to ensure reliability and prevent unauthorized software execution. The WDT (Watchdog Timer) pin activates the watchdog timer when maximized and allows the supervisor to reset the system if the timer is not reset periodically.
