The MAX6385XS31D2-T is a 4mA/10mA active-low, scan-chain supervisory circuit specifically designed for microprocessor-based and digital subsystems, providing multiple reset signals required during power up and power down. Developed by Maxim Integrated, this advanced power-on reset (POR) and power-down reset (PDR) supervisor is provided in an 8-pin ultra-thin lead-less package for a wide range of applications. It monitors reset at both voltage and current level. While the active -low reset output is activated during power-up, power-down and brown-out conditions, its open-drain output allows the monitoring of I/O voltages falling within a combined scope of 4.75V to 5.5V.

MAX6385XS31D2-T offers advanced features such as system reset control, power-down reset control, and microprocessor reset control. It also provides an integrated power-on reset (POR) delay circuitry and an active-low latch mode (scan-chain) configuration. Additionally, the device includes an adjustable version of adjustable timeout period, watch-dog timer, input threshold, active-low reset, and debounce circuit.

Working Principle

The MAX6385XS31D2-T monitors and supervises power supplies and system reset operations. It features a Watchdog Timer (WDT) circuit which can detect unsafe or incorrect operating conditions and reset the system if necessary. It also offers over/under voltage/current detection to drive the reset signal as per system requirement. The reset signal is also driven in response to various failures such as brown-out conditions or supply voltage fluctuations.
