Temperature Sensors - Analog and Digital Output is the primary application field of the MAX6581TG9E+.This integrated temperature sensor is used in a wide variety of applications including temperature measurement and control,thermostatic control, energy monitoring, automation, embedded design, aerospace, medical and consumer electronics.The MAX6581TG9E+ is an ultra-low power, low noise temperature sensing solution that features an analog output of -40°C to +120°C and a digital output of -20°C to +100°C.The MAX6581TG9E+ is an integrated temperature sensor, developed by Maxim Integrated.It is a low cost, high accuracy device that replaces conventional thermistors and other temperature sensors.The sensor has a fixed temperature range of -40°C to +120°C with a resolution of 0.00390625°C. The device is also capable of operating in temperatures from -20°C to +100°C as a digital output.The MAX6581TG9E+ is available in an 8-pin SOIC package.The MAX6581TG9E+ integrates an on-chip voltage regulator and temperature-to-frequency converter,which enables temperature measurement with minimum electronics and no external components. The device also incorporates an 8-bit analog to digital converter and a low-leakage level shifter, which allows for digital and analog output from the sensor.The working principle of the MAX6581TG9E+ is based on a patented temperature-to-frequency converter.The temperature-to-frequency converter converts the input temperature into a frequency signal,which is then compared to a reference frequency.The reference frequency is generated by an on-chip voltage controlled crystal oscillator.
