When either threshold is exceeded, the reset output will be asserted for a minimum assertion time of 175ms and until V IN is within the reset threshold range. The reset output also can be forced manually to reset the system.

The MAX6887JETE+ has integrated watchdog timer that monitors system activity and automatically resets the system if the program activity is lost. It has watchdog time-out period of 1.6s and it can be reset via a push-button switch or a logic signal.

The MAX6887JETE+ has a soft reset feature, which can issue a reset signal to the system controller to reboot after a power failure. The soft reset pin can also be used to reset the system manually.
