The development board is populated with the MAX7032RF transceiver and various peripherals and provides access to the RF pins.

The MAX7032EVSYS-433 is ideally suited for rapid prototyping and application development in short-range wireless networks with a range of up to 1km. The system is suitable for application development in the fields of home automation, sensor networks, and alarm systems. The evaluation and development setup can be used for RF receiver testing, for example; Through-The-Wall-Antenna (TTWA), Receiver-Sensitivity, Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) and DME testing.

MAX7032EVSYS-433 Working Principle

The MAX7032RF transceiver is a low-power digital transceiver integrated circuit specifically designed for short-range RF applications. The MAX7032RF operates in the 400MHz – 500MHz frequency band and provides full-duplex communication capabilities with up to 100Kbps data rate. The transceiver supports the frequency-hopping spread-spectrum (FHSS) and direct-sequence spread-spectrum (DSSS) modulation schemes for data transmission.

The MAX7032EVSYS-433 supports up to 4 RF channels, up to 2 transmitters and 2 receivers, with a programmable output power. The transmitter section of the transceiver includes a programmable transmitter pre-emphasis filter for further increase of data rate and sensitivity. The transmitter output power can be set to either a 0dBm (10mW) or -10dBm (1mW) range.

The MAX7032RF transceiver has built-in error correction and detection capabilities for reliable operation in noisy environments. The receiver section includes a programmable low-noise amplifier (LNA) to increase the sensitivity of the transceiver. The transceiver also has an active antenna power saving functionality to reduce the power consumption of the receiver when not in use.

The MAX7032EVSYS-433 also includes a development board that provides access to the various RF pins of the transceiver. The development board also includes a control microcontroller, an LCD display and a set of user-configurable push buttons for easy firmware development.
