WORKING PRINCIPLE
The MAX7319ATE+T works in accordance with the SPI, I2C and UART interface protocols that are used to control various input/output functions. The main components of the MAX7319ATE+T include a data register, a register file, an input buffer, an output buffer, and a signal conditioning logic. The data register is composed of eight 8-bit registers that are used to store 8 bytes of information related to the port’s functions such as direction, pull-up, input logic voltage, etc. The register file is composed of two 32-bit registers that contain input/output data and an 8-bit register that contains the status of a port.
The input buffer is responsible for the detection of each pin\'s level prior to any input/output operations. The output buffer is used to output the desired logic voltage level when an output pin is set to "high" or "low." Lastly, the signal conditioning logic is responsible for the regulation of voltages and the management of data transmission on the bus.
The MAX7319ATE+T can be used to quickly add up to eight I/O ports to your system. It features an auto-retriggerable interrupt source and programmable digital pull-up resistors. The MAX7319ATE+T is available in space-saving SOIC-8 narrow package with an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +125°C.
