Introduction

The MAX7358ETG+T comes from Maxim Integrated’s Extended Operating Life (XOL) analog switch family. It is special purpose switch designed with improved extended-temperature (down to -40°C) performance, plus an enhanced logic interface that is optimized to allow precisely controlled switching sequences. It is made with an advanced process technology to extend its operating temperature across a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.

Working Principle

The MAX7358ETG+T is a dual channel, single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) analog switch, which provides reliable switching between two signal paths. It operates on a low-voltage supply voltage range of 2.3V to 3.6V and draws an maximum enable current of 2.3µA. It has two Voltage Varians (VV) to select from 2.3V or 3.6V or 5.0V. It has two enable (EN) pins and resistive ON resistance (RON) ratings varying from 5Ω for the MAX7358ETG+T-2.5V version and 6Ω for the other three versions. The MAX7358ETG+T operates at a maximum of -3dB bandwidth frequency of 100MHz and its maximum linear analog signal range is at 12V +/-5V.

The internal architecture of the MAX7358ETG+T is designed as a master-slave switch. It is basically an arrangement of three main components – the logic control chip, the SPDT switch and the slew rate limiter. The logic control chip is responsible for controlling the switch, while the SPDT switch is used for the actual switching of the signal.
