The MAX7439ETP+ is a member of the MAX739x family of two-channel narrow-band active filters, specifically designed for eliminating EMI and EMC interference from signal lines. It allows for signal conditioning in motor control applications, general-purpose signal-processing systems, medical electronics, and much more. It incorporates an adjustable 3-pole filter to minimize signal interference, while eliminating high-frequency noise, and can be programmed via a digital control bus.
The active filter works in four distinct stages. First, it acts as a high-pass filter, blocking low-frequency signals and allowing higher-frequency signals to pass through. Then, a low-pass filter eliminates both unwanted AC and DC signals, while allowing the desired signal to pass. The third stage is a band-stop filter which forms a notch around a specific frequency, allowing all input signals but one to be attenuated. Finally, the fourth stage is a low-pass filter that blocks out any remaining high-frequency signals.
The MAX7439ETP+ active filter was designed for two or three-channel signal-processing applications such as motor control, video signal processing and bio-medical electronic systems. Using the adjustable 3-pole filter, the filter can be tuned to precisely minimize EMI and EMC common-mode and differential-mode interference from signal lines. In terms of performance, the MAX7439ETP+ active filter can achieve a noise rejection rate of up to 70 dB at both the input and output terminals.
