Working Principle of MAX744ACWE+

The MAX744ACWE+ is a voltage-regulated, DC/DC converter with adjustable outputs. It operates using the multiple switch synchronous rectification technique to provide high-efficiency operation. The controller\'s wide input voltage range allows for regulated outputs even when the input voltage is substantially higher than the output voltage.

The MAX744ACWE+ can operate in either voltage-mode DC/DC conversion or current-mode peak current-mode control. In voltage-mode, the output is controlled using an internal voltage-sense circuit. This sensed voltage is compared to a voltage reference, and the controller adjusts the output until the two signals match. In current-mode, the output is controlled by monitoring the maximum peak current of the MOSFETs.
