Working Principle

The MAX751CPA+ operates on a simplified Buck topology and is powered from an input voltage source, such as a battery. It converts the unregulated input voltage (Vi) from a battery to a regulated output voltage (Vo) by switching the input voltage into short pulses, which drives a high frequency transformer. The transformer is used to step up or step down the voltage to the desired output voltage, and it is also used to store energy in its magnetic field.
