MAX758AEWE+T is a high-performance, high-efficiency pmic device. It is used for regulated DC-DC switching and LDO power supplies in a wide range of applications, such as battery backup systems, portable electronics, industrial systems, mobile devices and networking equipment.
The MAX758AEWE+T is a versatile, fixed frequency and voltage regulator controller. It is capable of delivering up to 5A load current with low drop out voltage. The controller has a comprehensive range of features, including temperature sensing, current limiting, output switch on/off, over-voltage/over-temperature/under-voltage protection and soft start.
The MAX758AEWE+T utilizes a fixed frequency, pulse width modulation (PWM) control method. The switching frequency is based on a train of pulses, which can be programmed to operate in the range from 10kHz to 400kHz. The pulse width of the train is adjusted to maintain the desired output voltage. The output voltage is continuously monitored and compared to a reference voltage. If comparison indicates that the output voltage is not at the desired voltage level, the PWM duty cycle is automatically adjusted to maintain the desired output voltage.
The MAX758AEWE+T provides excellent line and load regulation, high efficiency (up to 85%), and precise output voltage accuracy. It has a low external quiescent current of only 3A, allowing for excellent power savings in battery operated applications. The device also has internal over-current and over-temperature protection.
