The MAX761CSA is a popular device within the PMIC Voltage Regulators DC DC Switching Regulators family. The MAX761CSA is a full-featured device that provides a thermal shutdown sensing circuit, over current protection and output voltage control. It also features a low voltage protection feature to protect the device and the connected application when the input voltage is too low. The Soft Start capacitor threshold is adjustable with an external resistor, to help prevent a large inrush current surge.
The MAX761CSA has, as main application field, the design of high output voltage, low-power consumption DC-DC converters. The device uses Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control to regulate the output voltage. This type of control eliminates the need for expensive large core inductors and saves cost, drawing very small quiescent currents. The device supports an operating temperature range from -40 to +125℃.
The MAX761CSA is an integrated circuit device, combining two voltage conversion stages with an onboard PWM control IC, an oscillator and a power output stage. The device uses a synchronous rectifier topology which planifies the output voltage and increases efficiency.
