The MAX9022AUA linear-comparators is a high speed, ultra-low-voltage comparator designed to detect small input voltage differences. It is well-suited for low-power, battery powered systems. Its differential inputs range from 550 mV to 1.8 V, making it suitable for operation in low-power, 3V systems. Additionally, it offers a 40-nsec response time, making the MAX9022AUA ideal for power management, battery monitoring and other data-acquisition applications.

The MAX9022AUA operates in either open-drain or push-pull modes. In open-drain mode, an open-collector drive is enabled. When the output is 0, the open-collector drive is disabled, allowing the output to "float" - and thus conserve power. In push-pull mode, the output is driven high or low, completely i, no power being required to "float" the output. This makes it suitable for driving an LED or op-amp.

The MAX9022AUA has two inputs, an inverting analog input, and a non-inverting analog input. When the input signal exceeds the reference voltage, the comparator output transitions from LOW to HIGH. The trigger level for the transition depends on the values set for the inverting and non-inverting inputs. This reference voltage also varies with temperature, from 1.0 V at 77°F (25°C) to 1.17 V at 158° F (30°C).

The MAX9022AUA is capable of driving loads up to 15 mA, making it suitable for driving LEDs, relays, and active transistors.
