Conversely, when the voltage applied to IN– is higher than the voltage applied to IN+, the output of the chip, OUT, will be low. This chip also has ESD protection capability, where an ESD event will result in OUT being pulled low for a short period of time until the ESD event is over. Furthermore, this chip also has a thermal protection feature, wherein the chip automatically shuts off if the temperature exceeds 150 degrees C. In addition, the comparator has an internal adjustable resistor for setting the trip point for IN+ and IN–.
