Working Principle

The MAX922ESA+T operates a pair of comparators within a single package. Each comparator has an independent power supply and two input comparison points.The device includes a logic output stage with two separate transistors which are isolated from each other and from the rest of the chip.When the two inputs in either channel are different – i.e. the voltage on one input is higher than the other – then the comparator output will go low, hence activating one of the transistors. This can then be used to control the circuit.The inputs are large and the internal power supply enables the device to run at any supply voltage up to 10 volts. This provides for easy integration into any circuit without having to worry about component matching.
