The MAX923CSA+ series is a group of precision, rail-to-rail CMOS comparators. It features a low offset voltage, low quiescent current, and fast propagation delay, making it suitable for a wide variety of linear applications. This series is particularly well suited for voltage sensing and low-speed systems.

The basic function of the MAX923CSA+ comparator is to compare two input voltage levels and output a digital signal based on the results. The comparator works by comparing the input on one of its terminals to the reference voltage on its other terminal. When the input voltage is greater than the reference voltage, the output of the comparator will be positive, otherwise the output will be negative.

The MAX923CSA+ operates at supply voltage ranges of 0.8V to 6.0V and can operate over an ambient temperature range of –25°C to +75°C. It also offers an output noise immunity of 6-pF capacitance. The output current is up to 10mA and the output voltage swing is ±0.9V, giving it excellent load-drive capability.

The MAX923CSA+ output stage is designed to provide rail-to-rail operation. It allows both positive and negative voltage values at its output and can switch between them without the off-state current that would be seen in traditional comparator designs. This ensures that the comparator is able to operate without the need for an external resistor or capacitor to control the output voltage.
