MAX9321EKA+T are clock buffers, drivers and synthesizers designed with an application field in timing and synchronization devices, able to provide fanout, signal buffering, and signal distribution functions. They are also capable of synthesizing clock signals to provide either high (35MHz) or low (20kHz) frequency outputs while they remain fully digital outputs and do not require external components.

Manufactured with a 14-pin product family, the MAX9321EKA+T are available in either TSSOP packages or SOIC packages. Weighing just 2.85mm max, the MAX9321EKA+T ICs can be used across a wide variety of applications from telecom/datacom equipment, servers, and HPC systems to FPGA or ASIC system clocks. Despite its low power, the ICs remain completely stable and robust in both extended temperature ranges, from 0 to 70C or -40 to 105C, and in ideal timing variations from 8ns to 8.4ns.

The main feature of the MAX9321EKA+T is its multi-gnarly outputs and its CMOS/PECL operating range. The high its fanout of up to 10 output buffers, the MAX9321EKA+T can also provide precise data-clocking and disable signals, enabling a wide range of applications when dealing with clock synchronization. In addition, the MAX9321EKA+T’s wide CMOS/PECL voltage range makes it ideal for signal distribution duties, further providing an ideal compatibility with the big variety of signal formats.

The MAX9321EKA+T works by buffering the input clock signal, isolating the signal from the noise from the internal circuit and also from external sources. They are ideally suited for data operations such as clock synchronization, buffering, signal fanout, signal distribution, signal regeneration, and clock synthesis. The MAX9321EKA+T can be used for both conventional and prototyping applications, such as video systems, Ethernet switches, storage systems, base stations, network and communications equipment, routers, and embedded systems.

The MAX9321EKA+T ICs provide enhanced features including spread spectrum support, adjustable output and resistance levels, web-based tools for design automation and support, programmable output frequencies and low jitter, push/pull drive outputs, and an integrated oscillator. The ICs also feature an optional external resistance feature which allows the user to fine tune the outputs up to a maximum of 1.6V.
